UNLV PROTECTS INVESTMENT WITH NEOGARD

Surrounded by the Mojave Desert, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, continuously expands and updates facilities to accommodate the growing number of students.  One example of the recent updates includes the waterproofing of the pedestrian roof deck on the Paul McDermott Physical Education Building.  Because computers are in use below the deck, UNLV needed a seamless waterproofing system that would function.  To prevent a complete tear off and re-pour of the concrete deck, UNLV chose Neogard’s Heavy Duty Peda-Gard II.

Heavy Duty Peda-Gard II provides a skid-resistant surface necessary for pedestrian traffic while offering a durable waterproofing protection.  Heavy Duty Peda-Gard II features a unique combination of high tensile strength and high elongation not available in other surface-applied systems.  Heavy Duty Peda-Gard II, like other Neogard systems, can be specifically designed to meet the demands of specifiers and owners on a job-by-job basis.

Technicoat Waterproofing Specialists, a part of NEOGARD’s international network of licensed applicators, coated the 75,000-sq. ft. pedestrian roof deck.  Technicoat specializes in high tech performance coatings, wearing surfaces for pedestrian traffic and vehicular traffic as well as new and existing roofs.
