Angel
Stadium in Anaheim, CA has been home to the Los Angeles Angels of
Anaheim since their move to the ball park following the 1965 season.
Over
the
years, renovations to the park have been necessary to keep up with heavy
traffic the ball park sees year in and year out. In 2013 Ladner
Coatings, Inc. recoated the Diamond Club patio deck at the Diamond Club
Restaurant. The Diamond Club Restaurant offers a full-service
restaurant and bar with patio seating right behind home plate. The
patio was originally coated back in 1998 with a urethane deck coating
system. This 17,000 square foot area is designed to accommodate the
Angels most demanding fans.
The existing
coating system had been compromised and was allowing water to infiltrate
the batting cage tunnels and dugout suites below. In addition
to the leaks, the Angels owner, Artie Marino, was not pleased with the
look of the existing coating and decided it was time to recoat.
Mike McKay, Angels Facilities Manager, contacted Rob Ladner of Ladner
Coatings, Inc. and awarded them a contract to recoat the Diamond Club
Patio Deck. Ladner Coatings, Inc. prepared the deck to receive
NEOGARD’s Peda-Gard FC Aliphatic pedestrian traffic deck coating as seen
below. In a follow-up correspondence to Rob Ladner, Mr. McKay
stated, “As usual, your guys did a great job. We got a lot of
compliments during our two pre-season games. Thanks for everything.”
