40,000 Square Feet of Epoxy Coatings Used...

When Earthtech Canada Inc. required epoxy coatings for the new Biosolids Complex at the Clarkson Wastewater Treatment Plant, they chose NEOGARD CG 32, CG 125 and Wallgard 40.

The new Biosolids building houses thickening and dewatering equipment as well as provides for polymer, sludge loading and maintenance facilities.

Earthtech required coatings that had resistance to chemicals and were easy to maintain. Over 40,000 sq ft of NEOGARD epoxy coatings were used on the Biosolids Building in 2006.

ACRYLITHANE™ coating protects the Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove...

Overlooking Biscayne Bay and the Miami Skyline, the smallest of Miami's Ritz-Carlton hotels is the most intimate of its properties and is surrounded by 2 acres of tropical gardens.  Coatings Application and Waterproofing, Inc., headquartered in St. Louis, MO., was awarded the contract to refresh the existing metal roofing system with a high performance coating system.

Their solution was to use a product from the JONES-BLAIR Industrial Division, ACRYLITHANE™, a high performance, two component coating for use where appearance, durability, color and gloss retention and corrosion resistance are paramount.

Jim Rist, NEOGARD's Regional Roofing Manager for the Florida area said: "This job by CAW turned out GREAT!".

Elasta-Gard SP Protects St. Ives US Division in Florida...

When the management of St. Ives was faced with the decision of what type of new roof to put on their plant in Hollywood, FL, they consulted with Marc Segal of Rainbow Professional Roofing. Since the roof insulation was in good shape and the existing EPDM membrane was still in salvageable condition, Marc, working with Bernie Abrami of BA Building Solutions, Inc., suggested an alternative that would allow them to keep the insulation that they already owned and not expose the interior of the building to the weather. Elasta-Gard SP was chosen and the owner now has an Energy Star approved roof system that is keeping the production area below cooler. The sustainable roof has also eliminated over a half mile of membrane seams and the potential leaks that go with them.

Since 1926, home football games have been played here...

Fisher Field at Lafayette CollegeDan Anagnos, NEOGARD Regional ManagerIn 2006, Quinn Construction, Inc. out of Folcroft, PA, installed approximately 70,000 square feet of NEOGARD Peda-Gard FC Traffic Bearing Waterproofing and the Neoflex Wall Coating System to protect Lafayette's Fisher Field from the elements.  Fisher Field is where the College's home football games have been played since 1926 and is undergoing a major transformation that will benefit intramural and recreational programs as well as football and other varsity athletic teams.  Dan Anagnos, NEOGARD Regional Manager, thanks Jim Harduk of Construction Sales Group and Quinn Construction, Inc. for making this job a success.

High Rise Breezeways on the Atlantic Ocean...

When the owners recently began investigating different traffic bearing waterproofing systems to waterproof the breezeways at Edgewater House in Bethany Beach, Delaware, they wanted to be certain they made the right selection. With the building being occupied, they needed a system that would not interrupt the daily lives of their tenants', which meant they needed a system that was fast to install and exhibited no odor during installation. In 2006, they contracted with Weather Or Not, Inc. in Ocean City, Maryland to install the Peda-Gard FC system with a maple color finish to accent the decor of the building.

PERMATHANE™ II FR Continues to help the Gulf Coast rebuild...

When it came time for the SPF roof of the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi to be replaced from the damage of Hurricane Katrina, the owner's representative had one request - they wanted the same system that was recently installed on the Superdome. The existing silicone roof had weathered the storm but after 26 years it was time for a face lift. NEOGARD representative Harvey Cooper assisted the architectural firm of Guild Hardy with the PERMATHANE™ II FR specification of the 100,000+ square foot domed arena. Fighting adverse weather conditions and a progressive entertainment schedule at the facility, Coatings Application and Waterproofing of St. Louis, MO delivered a superior job as they have over the last 27 years as one of NEOGARD's top applicators.

What to do with Millions of square feet of aging roofs...

Bank of America was looking for a cost effective way to help solve the problem of their existing roofs reaching the end of their serviceable life.  With millions of square feet of roofs in place and many of them single ply and modified bitumen roofs approaching the age of replacement, did Bank of America have any other options other than replacing them?  Two Tampa Bay area contractors helped solve their problem. With the support of Wayne Heironimus of HeiTech Systems and Todd Arrant of Phoenix Sales, Quality Roofing of Tampa Bay, Florida and McMullen Roofing of Clearwater, Florida offered them a long term NEOGARD solution. These two contractors showed Bank of America a better way.  They approached them with a restoration program designed to maintain these roofs rather than replacing them.  The solution was installing NEOGARD's High Performance
Direct Bond System.  By choosing to restore these roofs, Bank of America made their old roofs better than new.  Not only did they save money but they made these older roofs more energy efficient, stronger, seamless, resistant to ponding water and renewable. They turned a costly negative into a money saving positive solution.  Bank of America will be able to continue to restore these roofs for many years to come. In fact, they may never have to replace these roofs again.

Protecting new construction in lower Manhattan...

Owner and operator Edison Properties was looking to protect their investment in the garage under the new 88 Leonard Street building.  A combination of NEOGARD vehicular traffic systems was installed by the New York branch of Structural Preservation Systems to waterproof, protect and improve the serviceability of the ramps and floors in this busy garage.  In addition to waterproofing provided by AUTO-GARD FC (fast-cure), the AUTO-GARD F system with flint aggregate was installed on the circular ramps for superior skid resistance and durability.  Moreover, the VT (vehicular traffic) on-grade epoxy flooring system was installed in the basement level in lieu of a clear sealer in order to provide a floor for pedestrian and high traffic areas that is light reflective and stronger and easier to clean than concrete and also improves aesthetics.  Pasquale Suriano, Vice President of Edison Properties, said he is very pleased with the appearance and functionality of the floors, and NEOGARD thanks Mark Lanza and Bill Friday of SPS for their dedication to the project.

Continued success of Elasta-Gard C...

The continued success of NEOGARD Direct Bond Roof Systems in the Gulf States Region is evident at the new Ocean Club Condominiums in Biloxi, MS.  Elasta-Gard C, a seamless urethane coating system, has a great track record against recent Hurricanes Ivan and Katrina, with minimal damage recorded.  Gulf Coast Waterproofing is to be commended for their attention to detail in having to deal with over 100 roof top AC units in the installation of the 10,000 square foot project just a half-mile from the recently finished Biloxi Coliseum. NEOGARD thanks Wesley Dunaway, owner of Gulf Coast Waterproofing, thanks for another great job!

Totally restored with Elasta-Gard SP...

Contractor:  Pro-Tech Services
Name of Project:  Husher Company
System Installed:  Elasta-Gard SP

Scope of Work:  Existing adhered EPDM beginning to fail.  Totally restored with direct bond Elasta-Gard SP system.  Failing seams, verticals, and penetrations stripped-in to a water-tight state with NEOGARD 86218 "Webseal" flashing tape.

Husher CompanyHusher Company was looking for another alternative other than a EPDM, TPO, or PVC single-ply with seams and failures.  Tom Pulda, President of Pro-Tech Services, along with Jim Rogers, NEOGARD Midwest Regional Roofing Manager, delivered a quick remedy for the owner’s best investment and interest.  A quick evaluation of the existing structure was easy to determine that an Elasta-Gard SP would solve the problem quickly and give the project a quick face-lift with the monolithic concept the owner needed.  As you can see, the fit was perfect and the building is now in a state of ease knowing that the four season city located in Wisconsin can rest well with it’s new true single-ply system.

Permathane II FR saves Owner money...

Contractor: RNC Contracting
Name of Project:  Impact Solutions #3
System installed:  Permathane II FR

Scope of Work:  Total remediation of an existing SPF with Acrylic topcoat that was only 2 ½ years old.

Project Overview:
Impact Solutions Before and AfterWhen the owner of Impact Solutions approached RNC Contracting, he was looking for more than a new roof, but guidance and technical advice as well.  Robert Nelson owner of RNC Contracting immediately fulfilled that request with a prompt visit to the jobsite in Lansing, Michigan where the dwelling stood.  It didn’t take Robert long to realize that the current, intact roofing system was the perfect candidate for a NEOGARD Permathane II FR system.  The standing acrylic looked rough, but the substrate and insulation was in salvageable condition.  The project from start to finish (prep included) took only 4 days to complete.  The end result was a sustained roofing application from NEOGARD, no disruption to the business, a roof that has been transformed into a preventative maintenance approach, a system that saved the owner money on his budget, and the opportunity to now do business with a company that has multiple buildings in the surrounding area!!  The owner is thoroughly happy with his choice and the professional technical support, and consulting that he received from RNC Contracting (Robert Nelson) and Midwest Regional Manager for roofing (Jim Rogers).

Rusty and leaking metal roof is now leak-free...

Rusted and leaking metal roof...Contractor:  Northern Michigan Metal Roofing
Name of Project:
Gerrish-Higgins School (Roscommon School District)
Location:  Roscommon, Michigan
System Installed:  Elasta-Gard M

Scope of Work:  Turn a leaking, rusted metal roof into leak-free and sustainable roof system.

Project Overview:
The winters in Michigan can be tough on roofs and the Roscommon School District had a decision to make with the roof on the Gerrish-Higgins School, tear-off the rusted and leaking 9,800 square foot metal roof and replace it, or look for a better, sustainable alternative.  They found it with NEOGARD’s Elasta-Gard M urethane
The final coat applied to the roof was a High-Performance Elastomeric Polyurethane...roof system.  Jim Rogers, NEOGARD’s Midwest Regional Manager and Corey Crandall, the local NEOGARD rep, explained the process, features and benefits of the fluid-applied roof system.  Authorized Direct Bond roofing applicator, Northern Michigan Metal Roofing, was selected install the Elasta-Gard M system.

The entire roof was power washed and cleaned with a low pH, environmentally friendly cleaner and power tooled with a wire bush assembly to remove the surface scale and rust.  The roof was then primed with Ureprime HS2 primer, all horizontal seams were sealed with NEOGARD’s flashing tape and the vertical flashings received a treatment of NEOGARD’s polyurethane sealant.

Once preparation was complete, the Elasta-Gard M system was installed.  The pictures demonstrate how a leaking and rusting metal roof has been turned into a leak-free, seamless, warranted and sustainable system that will last the owners for many years with minimal maintenance requirements.

Permathane II FR covers Salt Domes in Iowa...

Contractor:  Washington Roofing
Name of Project:
Iowa Department of Transportation Salt Storage Domes
System installed:
SPF with Permathane II FR
Representative:  Gene Monk, Blue Sky Solutions
Midwest Regional Manager:  Jim Rogers

Project Overview:
The state of Iowa wanted to have options other than a steep-slope asphalt shingle for their holding domes.  These domes house different types of road melting substrates during the cold winter months.  The problems they were having ranged from loose shingles, sliding shingles, delaminated shingles, and the overall troubles of the shingles not being able to perform on merely a vertical pitched roof assembly.  Gene Monk of Blue Sky Solutions delivered a prompt site visit to the site and met with the IDOT (Iowa Department Of Transportation) to discuss the current systems issues, product failures, frustrations, and a chance to promote the NEOGARD Permathane II FR system.  The IDOT quickly realized that the Permathane II FR system met the criteria they have been searching for, an Energy Star-rated system with renewable options after the initial warranty expired.  The NEOGARD Permathane II FR system provided the state facility with a UV compliant, impact resistant, Energy Star-rated, monolithic seamless roofing system that will allow them to will gain energy savings for a long time.  With the option of a renewable warranty, this building can continue to perform with no disruptions or tear-offs in the future.

:  Metalife Conservation
Independent Sales Rep:  R&B Colormaster Consulting
Regional Manager:  Ken Mackey

Architect:  IBI Architecture, Vancouver, BC
Building Envelope Consultant:
 Morrison Hershfield
Building Contractor:  ITC Construction
Systems Installed:  Auto-Gard FC - 90,000 SF
Systems Installed:  Peda-Gard - 16,000 SF

Scope of Work Performed:  In Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, real estate developers and general contractors are once again building Residential and Commercial towers after a significant 2009/2010 slow down.  The competition is fierce, but Metalife Conservation continues to be awarded large projects and West Pender Place was one such project.

On this large new construction condominium project, the Auto-Gard FC system was selected to waterproof the parking garage.  Elimination of the potential for disruption from odor concerns from the multitude of sub trades was a priority for the builder, as they were on a tight schedule.  As a result of the selection of a very low odor system in the underground parking garage, Metalife was able to work normal shifts and not one trade complained about odor.  One of the levels completed with Auto-Gard FC was used as a staging area for construction materials for a period of six months with almost no damages to the coating from movement of materials by forklift and Bobcat.

The balconies were protected with the NEOGARD single component polyurethane waterproofing system, Peda-Gard. This system was selected for its decades long track record on exterior decks and user-friendliness during balcony application.

General Contractor:
  The Trevino Group
Systems Installed:  Peda-Gard FC - 45,000 SF

Texas Moisture Protection Company (TXMP) recently completed a unique and challenging project at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.  The Trevino Group was the General Contractor on this project where TXMP installed a waterproof pedestrian traffic coating system (Peda-Gard FC) on the 45,000 square foot suspended slab of the G6 mechanical room in the Alkek Tower.  The purpose for this work was to contain any water leaks produced by mechanical failures or water and sewage line rupture.

In order to contain possible leaks, TXMP installed several integral systems.  The last being a fast cure urethane pedestrian traffic coating on the suspended slab.

Typically, installing a waterproof pedestrian traffic coating would be simple.  Just prep the slab and install the coating.  However, this was far from a typical installation.  One being the project location which was directly above the surgery floor.

Despite the many obstacles with this project, it was a great success and through combined planning, coordination, and commitment to quality control, the project was completed four weeks ahead of schedule.
