Harley-Davidson
Dealership
Protects Inventory with Neogard
Ray Price
Harley-Davidson/Buell, Incorporated of Raleigh, North Carolina is one of
the nation’s premier upscale motorcycle dealerships. The 56,000 square
foot showroom features millions of dollars of inventory including
Harley-Davidson and Buell motorcycles, motorcycle parts, and the exclusive
line of Harley-Davidson motorclothes. Mr. Price’s dealership also houses
a state-of-the-art service area, a legend’s museum, and Rider’s EdgeSM,
Harley-Davidson’s Academy of Motorcycling.
The top floor of the
dealership constructed by Choat Construction, also from Raleigh, is a
20,000 square foot roof with a 5,000 square foot penthouse residence.
Because of the merchandise below and the foot-traffic above, Price wanted
to protect this investment by coating the roof deck with Neogard’s
pedestrian traffic-bearing waterproofing system, Peda-Gard applied by one
of Neogard’s licensed applicators, Baker Roofing & Waterproofing from
Raleigh, North Carolina.
Peda-Gard, a
liquid-applied polyurethane, becomes a part of the building structure to
form a seamless protective barrier against leakage and moisture intrusion
and provide the skid-resistant surface necessary for pedestrian traffic.
Peda-Gard can be specifically designed to meet the demands of specifiers
and owners on a job-by-job basis.
According to Chris Haddock, General Manager,
they are “very pleased with the product” and final appearance of their
roof deck. Ray Price Harley-Davidson/Buell, Incorporated has set the
standard for all other Harley-Davidson dealerships for its location and
appearance.
